Edgy Savannah Elopment

We love elopements. Something about being with just your love, and saying your vows intimately is such a romantic way to say I Do. Savannah is such a perfect city for elopements too! Most people think of Savannah as being super sweet, romantic, and oh so southern. And it is! But Savannah has an edge, a side that is artistic and creative, and unique to any other city. We wanted to showcase this in a styled shoot, and show off what a fun elopement you could have!

We chose Local 11 Ten Restaurant, which provided a unique setting for the ceremony and reception. The rooftop patio was perfect for the ceremony, surrounded by oak trees and moss, giving you the “Savannah” feel. We love this rooftop bar, and it is a Savannah local favorite. With such a gorgeous backdrop of old Oak trees dripping in Spanish Moss, little decor was needed. We focused on loose foraged greenery, and worked with the modern colors and textures inside Local 11 Ten.

Styled with bouquets of greenery, vintage cars and motorbikes, we wanted to show that you can experience your very own special elopement in Savannah, creating something magical that mixes the traditional side of Savannah with the modern, fun and artistic side of Savannah that we know and love. For the bride, we chose one of our favorite new gowns, Halo by Blush by Hayley Paige

We chose the roof top deck at Local 11 Ten for the ceremony, which has some gorgeous views. It overlooks oak trees and lots of classic Spanish Moss, and is just a short walk away from Forsyth. The intimate setting is perfect for an elopement! We used minimal decor, and focused on the stunning afternoon view. Wild greenery accented her bouquet, and candle light lined the aisle way. Rev Joe Wadas is one of our favorite officiants in Savannah. He is thoughtful, kind, funny, and always makes each ceremony about the couple. He can customize your vows to fit you as a couple, and can do any denomination, or even a non religious one if you prefer. After saying I Do, the bride and groom got some drinks before heading downstairs for their dinner with friends.

After the ceremony, the bride and groom as well as two friends joined them for the reception. From unique artwork, marble top tables, and modern lighting, Local 11 Ten is stunning. They even have a room with cork walls and an old bank vault.

The restaurant features gourmet tapas styled menu, so we chose some of our favorites, like the cheese and charcuterie board and Asian Salad. They also have rooms for private wine tastings with an extensive menu. We kept the table top decor simple, showcasing the gorgeous artwork at this intimate table. Fresh greenery and wildflowers were tucked into vases, with candles adding ambiance.

After the reception, the bride and groom took a mini getaway to nearby Forsyth, driving in style in a 1937 Packard. This allowed the bride and groom (a real couple!) time alone around the park, a symbol of Savannah. Her gorgeous gown by Blush by Hayley Paige was a no brainer when we were choosing what look she would wear. It features a nude bodice with lace overlay, crisscross straps in the back, and a signature horsehair skirt, a style Hayley Paige has perfected.

Our bride model has gorgeous dark hair, so we wanted to keep it simple with a little edge in the styling. Her makeup was kept soft and natural, since her style has all the edge. Paired with a leather jacket and jewelry provided by the photographer, our look was complete! The model’s boyfriend was the male model, and his style and look fit perfectly. He didn’t even have to try! He is sultry and sexy all on his own!

The grand finale was a session with the groom models motorcycle, and the cutest pup you will ever see! Named Gunner, he even wore sunglasses (and loved it!) And the sunset lighting was just pure magic. It was our favorite part of the shoot!
