Destination Weddings: Take Ivory & Beau with to Arizona
Since 2013 we have been primarily wedding planners in Savannah and surrounding areas, and now that it is 2020, we are ready to begin new adventures!
In an effort to get these adventures started, we are promoting that the first FOUR destination weddings that we book will have NO TRAVEL FEES added on. With any destination requires traveling which means more money needs to be spent in order to get there, stay there and for labor. So, without these travel fees added on means you will be saving money, YAY! We have book our first destination wedding in Asheville (so excited), so there are three more opportunities to book us without travel fees!
Now let’s get to the inspiration - we are always seeing photos on Pinterest and Instagram of these GORGEOUS wedding venues all over the country, and it gets our creativity booming and we want to be able to plan and create floral masterpieces in these locations! We began with the first destination, Oregon, in our blog Destination Weddings: Take Ivory & Beau with you to Oregon, and then moved onto a destination closer to home, Atlanta, in our blog Destination Weddings: Take Ivory & Beau with you to Atlanta.
Moving on to a location we would LOVE to do a wedding, Arizona, with its western boho vibes. Here is a mood board to inspire you to get married in Phoenix, AZ at a breathtaking venue, and we break down each element with a few tips on how to make it happen!
THE VENUE
Desert Botanical Garden - Phoenix, AZ
When we think of a wedding venue in Arizona, this is the EXACT picture that comes to mind. Views of the hills, lined with cactuses, large succulents, and the sun beaming down. The Desert Botanical Garden represents everything you could imagine Arizona would look like.
This is the perfect venue for an environmentally conscious couple, or for a couple who simply loves an epic view. This site is home to some unique & beautiful plants, with hiking trails and nature walks. Talk about a great place for wedding photos. You would also save some $$ money $$ on decor because you have the most gorgeous backdrops already available in nature.

THE COLORS
Burnt Orange, Dusty Blue, Terracotta, Olive Green
I feel like there is no way to avoid using a shade of orange in an Arizona wedding….or at least it would be really difficult. With a burnt orange being the primary color, adding the complimentary hue of a dusty blue creates the perfect balance of warm and cool tones. Secondary colors of peach, terracotta and olive green achieve a well rounded color palette blending together perfectly with the natural elements of the venue. This also gives your “something blue” an opportunity to be apart of the wedding theme, rather than seeming out of place or you feeling the need to keep it hidden.
THE DETAILS
Simplistic Place Settings, Drip Cake & Pampas Grass
Why spend a fortune on extravagant, detailed place settings when you have a backdrop like that? Crisp white plates against warm-toned wooden banquet tables, decorated with garland greenery with twinkle lights cascading overtop is essentially a sophisticated form of camping, or glamping if you will. Watching the sunset of yellows, oranges & pinks, while enjoying some delicious food is all you could ask for. Accent the space with dried plants, like palms, eucalyptus, proteas and of course pampas grass grouped together in terracotta pots.
Can’t forget the most important part, the dessert. Drip cakes have become such a popular wedding trend within the last year, and we are all for it. Couples are starting to stray away from the perfect, clean look, and are embracing naked cakes where the cake itself is showing through, and dripping icing overtop instead of fondant or intricate piping. With the simple additions, like tiny cactuses and smaller blooms, it’ll be the cutest - and trendiest - cake you’ve ever seen.
