How to Incorporate the Pantone Color of the Year 2023 into Your Wedding
The Pantone Color of the Year 2023 is….drum roll….VIVA MAGENTA!
The meaning behind this color can be described as “vibrating with vim & vigor - a shade rooted in nature descending from the red family and expressive of a new signal of strength. This color is brave and fearless, and a pulsating color whose exuberance promotes a joyous & optimistic celebration”. - PANTONE
What better celebration than a wedding? The ladies at Ivory & Beau are so excited for the 2023 wedding season and the countless amount of amazing weddings to come!
Here are a few ways you can incorporate the Pantone Color of the Year into your wedding.
“It is a new animated red that revels in pure joy, encouraging experimentation and self-expression without restraint, an electrifying, and a boundaryless shade that is manifesting as a stand-out statement.” - PANTONE
INVITATIONS
Invites are the first element of your wedding that your guests see, therefore the first opportunity to establish your theme. From the envelopes, font, RSVPs, seals, stamps etc., you have an opportunity to get creative. Whether you want to go all in with viva magenta to wow your guests with a pop of color, or keep it simple by using magenta for the smaller details (ex. font, seals, stamps), while keeping the envelopes and inserts a more neutral or lighter color.
BRIDAL PARTY
The best part about this color of the year is that it looks good on every skin tone, so every member of your bridal party will feel like their best selves on your special day. If you feel like putting all of your girls in magenta is too much or too overwhelming, you can mix & match shades or throw in a lighter color to balance it out.
FLORALS
Our favorite part…the florals! You can find the most stunning flowers in magenta - from roses, peonies, carnations, anemones, the list goes on. The best part? This color photographs beautifully, making it hard for you to narrow down your favorites. You can either go monochromatic, or add dimension with multiple shades, pairing amazingly with lush greenery.
DECOR
Your decor is important because it sets the ambiance of the party. They accentuate the venue, and transform it to match your aesthetic. There’s no such thing as too much or too little, as long as it represents you as a couple, and the same goes for color. You can add subtle touches of magenta - napkins, seating chart, colored glassware, colored candles or chargers. If you prefer to be less subtle, then do all of the above! In this case, the options are limitless.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
The food you serve at your wedding is one of the most important decisions, but who says it can’t be fun? You can play with vibrance, texture & taste. At cocktail hour, you can feature a fun cocktail with edible magenta flowers or edible glitter. Although it might be not be the best color for your main course, the desserts are where it can really shine. From magenta macarons, cake pops or even miniature cakes/cheesecakes with raspberries & fluffy mousse, either way I guarantee they will all be gone by the end of the night.
