The ALTARnative: A Sustainable Way to Preserve Your Bridal Bouquet
This is possibly the coolest thing we have ever seen. There is a business called The ALTARnative that will turn your bridal bouquet into fashion - or anything you want that is made of fabric.
The ALTARnative is a boutique design resource that specializes in the curating, designing, and styling of events, photo sessions, fashion brands, and interiors through florals, installations, and community connections with an emphasis on sustainable design processes.
The business was founded by a woman named Angela who is an intuitive & holistic floral artist who created a modern bouquet preservation technique by dyeing heirlooms from flowers. So.freaking.cool. Their most popular request seems to be bridal bouquets, but they can also do installations and arrangements, dyeing them onto dresses, robes, shirts, and even pillows. The idea is to choose an item that means something to you, like your grandmother’s scarf, or something that holds value to you and your family, and then the flowers are dyed onto the fabric to create these organic and beautiful patterns that are so incredibly unique and personal to YOU.
We found out about The ALTARnative from one of our #iandbbrides Amber - she posted about her experience of preserving her bouquet that we did for her wedding on her Instagram and tagged us, and we are so thankful that she did! Check out some photos from The ALTARnative & the photos from Amber’s Instagram below!
