How to Choose the Perfect Veil
Don’t get us wrong, when it comes to wedding day apparel, the dress is arguable the most important part. HOWEVER. It is important to note, something not to sleep on (much like Marshall’s Gouda in How I Met Your Mother), is the veil. SO many different types. So many different styles. So many different ways to complete your wedding day look. But we are going to break it down for you into two basic categories that every veil falls into.
Simple
This isn’t rocket science people, but Ivory & Beau recommends going more simple if you have a little bit more of an involved gown, anything with lace, sparkles, cut-outs, feathers, etc. The simple veil is for the bride who wants to feel like a bride in all senses of the word but doesn’t want to take away form the main event: the glorious gown. Though, going simple can also go with a simple gown, keeping the entirety of your look very clean and classic can be amazing especially if you decide to go a bit more sparkly with jewelry or shoes.
Dramatic
The exact opposite of your simple style, dramatic looks are those meant to make jaw drops as you walk down the aisle. Typically, we see longer veils in indoor ceremony settings like a cathedral or a grand hall of some degree, there is just something about seeing that veil spread out across the aisle that really gets us going, However, dramatic veils can be made for outdoor venues as well, typically with a move raw edged look to it as to prevent dirt, leaves, bugs, sand, crabs, etc. from sneaking into the details of your veil. We like to say that dramatic veils compliment a simple dress but let’s be honest, having an extra dramatic veil AND an extra dramatic dress make for one stunning, jaw dropping, dramatic bride and we are HERE FOR IT.
Remember, the veil that you choose is completely up to you, there are no rules or regulations whens it comes you personal style on your wedding day, so while we do have our suggestions on what we find to look the best, we want you to choose the veil that speaks to your regardless of whatever you may see in this blog or anywhere else on the internet!
