Wedding Planner Answers FAQs: Should I Preserve My Bouquet?

Believe it or not, one of the MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS we get from our floral and wedding planning clients has absolutely nothing to do with the wedding itself… in fact, it’s about what to do after the wedding! If you’ve ever wondered whether or not it’s worth it to preserve your wedding florals, this is the blog for you.

Why should I preserve my bouquet?

Well… why not? First of all, bouquet preservation is the perfect way to hang onto those precious memories from your big day for a lifetime (provided you take good care of the frame). Plus, you spent a pretty penny on that pretty bouquet… you should get to enjoy it for more than one day! It’s the perfect heirloom for future family weddings– just imagine getting to display your florals at your future child’s wedding or at a golden anniversary party. Coolest. Decor. EVER!

What does bouquet preservation entail?

Every company handles shipping and booking a little differently, but the process of pressing the flowers themselves generally tends to stay the same! You can opt to either dry your flowers yourself or ship them off directly after your wedding (the sooner the better) for the company to dry themselves. Once Mother Nature has worked her magic, an artist will work to arrange your florals in a design of your choosing before sealing them in a frame. Not all flowers can be pressed and some blooms may lose their lustrous color in the drying process, but you can check with the company of your choosing to see what florals they do/don’t work with.

Who do you recommend?

While we haven’t personally worked with this company, as a small, women owned and operated business, we’re all for sharing the love with others– which is why we think you should check out Flowers of the Press! This Utah based company handles everything from drying your florals to designing and pressing them in frames or shadowboxes. To learn more about their process and company, click here
