Starts with a T and ends with an E
I posted a little teaser on Instagram a few days ago but thought I’d divulge a bit more about what really is going on behind the scenes. Mostly just because I miss blogging and I’m home sick today working from home, and blogging counts as working right?
My husband and I are in the process of buying land that overlooks the beautiful marsh here in Savannah. It’s funny to look back and think about where this dream began. It all started sitting on these cushy outdoor lounge chairs counting hornbill birds at Koh Yao Noi Luxury Treehouse villas on our honeymoon.
“What if we built a house instead of buying a house?”
One question, one thought, put us down this whole new trajectory, this whole new path. The idea stuck in our head and there was just no way to shut that vision out. After 5 months of looking at the same piece of land, dreaming about it, knowing it was way over our budget, we finally decided to just go for it. We put in an offer way way way under asking price thinking there’s just no way. There’s no way this is going to happen but how cool would it be if it did.
They accepted.
What?!!?!
2 months later we are getting so close to closing on the property. So you might be wondering what does this have anything to do with Ivory & Beau?
Well, it does. Because a part of my dream involves building something that correlates to weddings and has to do with the business. Building a house will come way down the road, but building something that we will be using for my business will come as soon as we close. And I just can’t absolutely wait.
So I will be taking y’all down the path of building this dream. One baby step at a time. And step one, is close on this property and be able to call it ours so that the foundation can be laid for the next dream. But first, the location of our property overlooks Wormsloe Historic Park so I wanted to share some images from this gorgeous shoot by Selycia Yang Photography featuring 2 of our gowns.
Hint One: my dream and vision involves weddings/elopements at Wormsloe Historic Park… because let’s be real, does it get more romantic than this location!?
This Maggie Sottero dress is still available at our shop & I am just in love love love with the romantic off-the-shoulder sleeves and the soft lace that it features. Can we also talk about long veils please?! I am such a sucker for long veils. There is nothing more bridal to me than long veils and I am so far from traditional but there is just something about a long veil and the beautiful images that can be created with them. #swoonworthy
This long sleeve wedding dress is one of my favorites!! I’m partial to long sleeve wedding dresses because that’s what I wore at my wedding and they’re just my absolute favorite. This style is seriously the softest dress you will ever try on and it’s sultry bell sleeves give it the perfect touch of boho style that I adore.
Can we talk about those beautiful red lips too!? Would you rock red lips on your wedding day? it is so sultry and wonderful!!
Okay just one more Maggie Sottero dress for the win!! Interested in shopping our styles? Click below to schedule an appointment!
Stay tuned for what’s next in this big adventure and what will be sure to be lots of fun for future I&B Brides!!!! And huge shoutout to the vendors who made this beautiful shoot come to life!!
