It’s 2019 people and if you can spend a night in a giant potato for $200.00 then you can most certainly shy away from the traditional wedding reception, and we are here to reassure it will be OKAY. In fact, it will be better than okay, it will be really okay. To help ease your mind here a 4 reasons why you should consider doing a cocktail style reception!
1.Causal is the new formal
More and more brides are opting for a more casual mindset when planning their reception and we are here for it. Now, don’t get us wrong there will always be a place in our hearts for the traditional, sit down dinner, waiting in line for the buffet, formal receptions. HOWEVER, it is SO fun to mix it up and treat your wedding as a a party and a special event that allows your guests to let loose and feel comfortable!
2. Creative freedom
One of our favorite things about cocktail style weddings is that it allows you to have creative freedom! Want to have 18 highboys instead of 3 long farm tables? Sure, go ahead! Would you like to have a taco food truck, a hamburger bar and an ice cream stand instead of a traditional buffet? Absolutely. Want 6 vintage couches and beanbags as seating instead of chairs? Go for it. A cocktail style receptions opens the doors for infinite possibilities but they don’t all have to be wild! You can choose to go a more traditional route even with a cocktail style! How you ask? Go more traditional with your food, have servers walking around (v classy), do a more classic take on your decor, you get it…you can absolutely have a fusion of new age and classic when it comes to reception styles!
3. Less stress
We are 99% certain that cocktail style receptions are a bit less stressful than your more traditional receptions. There is no stress about exactly how many guests you’ll have, no worries about chargers, napkins, chairs, etc. Cocktail style receptions are a bit more relaxed and allow a little bit more room for error. Less stress = a happier couple come the wedding day. ,
