Unique Bouquet Alternatives
Let’s face it…..a traditional wedding isn’t for everyone.
Flowers are one of the most traditional (and expensive) aspects of any wedding. Why? Because they’re beautiful and create the overall look of your wedding, symbolizing the bloom of a new beginning. However, they may not be every bride’s cup of tea, for various reasons. Whether cost is the main factor, or you or someone in your wedding party is allergic. Other reasons may be for personal preference, or for the aspect of being unique. Whatever your reason may be, that’s totally okay!!
There are so many alternatives to flower bouquets that will make your wedding day match your style, and create more personalized memories that will last forever! These can be DIYed or found for an inexpensive price, but will make your wedding day that much more special!
Tamborines
For all of the boho brides! Tamborines are such a fun and whimsical alternative to the traditional flower bouquet. They are so easy to customize to your wedding theme. You can add ribbon, lace, greenery, or even have them engraved or monogrammed. This would be such a cute gift to give to your bridesmaids after the wedding. You can also reuse them for the reception - who wouldn’t want to shake a tamborine on the dance floor?!
Hoops
For the brides who are on a budget, but still want to incorporate flowers into her bouquets. The hoop or wreath style bouquet has become more and more popular. Although it seems more for a boho or rustic wedding, you can use any arrangement of flowers and greenery, as well as metal, wood or even paper for the ring to go with your theme. This would require less blooms than a typical bouquet, so you would be cutting costs as well as adding a unique touch to your wedding.
Fans
For all of those hot, summer weddings!!! Especially in the south. Using fans for bouquets is a cute idea for that southern, feminine bride. Similar to the tamborine, these are so customizable to fit your theme. You can use lace, paper, wood, and even add small blooms to resemble more of a bouquet. Fanned umbrellas are even a cute idea - looks great in photos! - and can come in handy for those summer rain showers.
Edible
For the brides that don’t take things too seriously, and just want to have a fun time at your wedding. Although very unconventional, edible bouquets are the most fun!!! There are so many options for this - basically all you have to do is choose your favorite snack or dessert! Whether you want to have a mixture of flowers incorporating your snack, or ditch the flowers altogether! The only thing you will have to worry about is resisting eating it before you walk down the aisle!
Puppies/Kittens!!
For the brides who are obsessed with animals and want to give back. If only every bride traded out their bouquets for puppies and kittens!! Soooooo cute. Whether you want to use your own pets, or use animals from your local shelter to help them get adopted. You can add blooms or greenery collars to all of the pups and kitties that could be reused as bracelets or flower crowns for your bridesmaids once the ceremony is over! Don’t be afraid that you’ll have animals running around at your ceremony….just use an adorable garland leash!!!
