Rain on Your Wedding Day

We had such a crazy busy weekend with 6 WEDDINGS!!! Rain or shine, we made it happen! All of them were amazing and we were so happy to have been apart of our brides’ special days!! Even though Saturday was a down pour all day and all night, the weddings were a success! What got us through were ponchos and Mellow Mushroom pizza ( I&B monogrammed ponchos coming soon ;) ).

The weather is the one thing you can never control, but you can definitely plan for it!! Savannah’s weather is very unpredictable, and that’s why you should always have a plan! Here’s how you can prevent the rain from ruining your wedding day:

  1. Always think of a backup plan months in advance - better to be safe than sorry! No matter what time of the year your wedding is in, you want to make sure you plan for the worst. You will be so grateful that you did once the day comes. The last thing you want to be is unprepared and stressed on your big day!

  2. Make a time plan - write it out. Having a step by step guide for your backup plan aside from your regular wedding timeline will be your life safer. You will already have it figured out and ready when the day comes, and you and your vendors won’t have to scramble trying to make it work.

  3. Work it out with your rental companies - we are so lucky to always get to work with amazing rental companies, like EventWorks & Ranco Tents, that make it easy to handle the problems that come up on wedding days. Communicating with your vendors to sort out a backup plan will relieve some of your stress knowing they will be on the same page!

  4. Invest in some clear umbrellas - talk about really cute photos! Not only will your wedding party and guests be safe from the rain, but you can actually get really cool photos in the rain!!

  5. Bring a spare pair of shoes - the thing about rain is that it causes puddles, and your shoes have a good chance of getting soaking wet and dirty. It would be a good idea to have a spare pair of shoes in case this happens!! Unless you prefer to go barefoot, its your day you can do whatever you want!

  6. Focus on the big picture - this is probably the most important tip. So many things can go wrong on a wedding day, I am sure we have seen them all. The most important thing is remembering what the day is all about, your love for each other and celebrating spending the rest your life together! No matter what goes wrong, you will be married by the end of the day.
