Food Truck Feastin’: What to Consider When Booking a Food Truck

Here at I&B, we’re all about the unusual. From little gold dinosaurs to wild’n’funky florals, we aren’t exactly about the traditional wedding experience-- and we’re totally cool with that if you are!

Often times, we find that while our I&B couples aren’t afraid to walk on the wild side when it comes to decor and attire, they aren’t aware of the vast array of fun food options that are available to them. One of our top picks for hosting an AWESOME dinner-time reception?

That’s right, baby. Food trucks!

From Jenni’s Sweet Treats on the Street to the Naked Dog, there are so many awesome food trucks in the Savannah area. There’s bound to be something that’s up your alley.

Now, before we get too ahead of ourselves planning our dream menu, a word of warning: because food is usually made-to-order on food trucks, you might run into the dreaded queue-conundrum. In order to keep your guests from waiting too long, the Knot recommends that couples book at least one food truck for every 75 guests.

While the food truck experience might not be quite right for all of your guests, remember that it’s always possible to mix and match. In addition to a food trucks, some couples may even consider also having a sit-down meal available for guests-- like dear grandma-- who value the traditional reception experience.

Food trucks are also a great option for couples who plan to keep the party going all night! Treat your guests to a little late night bite or quench their thirst with a mobile beer or wine garden.

If you aren't down for wedding cake, guess what? There's a food truck for that! We love Jenni's Sweet Treats for keeping cool and satisfying that nagging sweet tooth.

For those guests who have a special diet to keep in mind, fear not. Savannah’s food truck selection is only becoming more diverse by the day. Delicious vegan and vegetarian options are out there-- we’d totally recommend Big Bon Pizza!
