Top 5 Venues for SMALL Savannah Weddings!
There is something so inherently charming about an intimate wedding. Now-- don’t get me wrong, I love the glitz and glamour of a massive celebration-- but I am madly in love with the idea of an itty-bitty big day surrounded by only your closest friends and family.
We’ve recently been chatting with some sweet brides who are interested in keeping things small, so we figured there was no better time to discuss our top five picks for intimate wedding venues in the city we love best: Savannah!
Situated in the heart of Savannah’s Victorian District, the Gingerbread House is one of the most famous mansions in the city. Built in 1899, this venue is perfect for elopements, vow renewals, and intimate weddings. Boasting both a parlor room with antique furniture and a gorgeous hearth (for those fireside ceremonies) and a ballroom with glittering chandeliers, this vintage venue is classic and classy.
Telfair Academy
If the Gingerbread House doesn’t suit you, no worries! Savannah’s Historic District hosts a wealth of gorgeous mansions… not the least of which is the Telfair Academy. Celebrate your ceremony amongst a fine collection of art or take it outdoors and exchange your vows in a lush Savannah garden. While this venue is suitable for up to 150 guests, who says you can’t just limit that to 15 of your closest friends and family members?
Cha Bella
Cha Bella is one of our favorite local restaurants-- not to mention one of the premiere locations in town for your intimate wedding! The self-proclaimed “farm-to-table” eatery is perfect for a moody wedding beneath the twinkling lights on their patio. Their indoor space is also a wonderful blank slate for you to dress up or dress down however you’d like. Besides… who doesn’t love a little Italian food in their life?
Vic’s on the River
For those who favor a slightly more modern venue, Vic’s on the River is one of our favorite waterfront hangouts. Featuring both an uncovered outdoor space and a sleek indoor ballroom, Vic’s is not only the perfect reception spot, but for those with smaller guest lists, you can tie the knot with the Savannah River at your backs! Take a stroll down to River Street for your portraits, just like our gorgeous models and photographer friend Danielle George did.
The Mansion on Forsyth Park
Y’all… it simply does not get any more elegant than the Mansion on Forsyth. Fit for the most glamorous of couples, this venue can manage both your ballroom fantasies or an outdoor wedding-- there’s even a tent available for all of those unpredictable summer showers! Awarded the Knot’s 2012 “Best of Weddings” pick, this historic hotel venue is sure to make all of your dreams come true.
