IN THE PRESS: 100 Layer Cake + True Blu
It's a good week at Ivory + Beau when we are featured on not one, but TWO blogs! First up was a gorgeous shoot by The Happy Bloom + Design Studio South, where they used one of our gowns, that was featured on 100 Layer Cake. Second was our Horses + Donut's themed shoot with Two Chicks, which was up on the blog True Blu.
This Worlsmloe shoot was done by The Happy Bloom, and we are in love! They used our gown Candi, by Blush by Hayley Paige. This is one of our most versatile gowns! Candi features a simple lace trumpet gown underneath, with a detachable overlay made of blush and ivory tulle. She gives you both a sexy fitted gown, and a ballgown, all without buying two dresses! It's seriously such a cool dress, you need to try it on in person! From 100 Layer Cake: This shoot is full of bold smoky blue satin cloth, splashes of fresh orange, and topped off with the purple-y black contrast of blackberry chocolate cake. Your blush and ivory still make themselves known but the freshness of color and fun texture makes everything feel new and exciting. 2016 is sure to be the year of new and fun color combinations, fresh contrast, and the mixing of the old and the new. Historic Wormsloe was the perfect canvas to showcase this fresh splash of spring color.
The next shoot we had featured was our Horses + Donut's shoot we did with Two Chicks Photography! We were inspired by the gorgeous grounds, but wanted to do something different then a typical farm wedding. So we added pops of hot pink, periwinkle, and stripes! For this shoot we did a lot; flowers, DIY centerpieces and ceremony backdrop, and styling. We wanted the flowers to be bright and cheerful, so we used cabbage, roses and spray painted scabiosa pods. For the ceremony backdrop, we took chicken wire and cut out shapes, and wrapped the shapes in different colored yarn. It was super easy to make, and we loved how it turned out!
From Two Chicks Photography: When event designer, Ivory & Beau, was approached to do a styled shoot at Rum Creek Farms, a rustic barn/horse venue, they wanted to do something more modern and funky, as opposed to the traditional barn/rustic inspiration. Incorporating a Kate Spade design and feel, geometric shapes, bold colors, donuts and a color palette of gray, neon pink, neutrals and periwinkle were infused throughout! Betsy Pittard Designs provided pieces from her jewelry line that really showed some bold, colorful and unique ways to dress up your bridesmaids! It would be safe to assume that girls love all things dessert–and with a dessert table leaving everyone with their mouth watering and scrumptious cocktails provided by Spodee Wine, the images look almost good enough to eat! The outcome was everything we hoped to accomplish: a unique shoot of a bride and her bridesmaids with bold colors at a traditional barn/horse venue that also showed off some really unique jewelry & desserts and modernizing rustic elements!
