OBSESSED: Whitney Port's Wedding
If you are anywhere between the ages of 24 and 29 then I'm assuming you probably grew up loving, watching and obsessing over Laguna Beach, then The Hills and then finally The City. I know me and my friends sure did. From the beginning I was a Lauren Conrad fan and then when the show matured and moved to New York City, I of course loved everything Whitney Port. Flawless, sweet and extremely fashionable, she was a serious girl crush for me. So today when I ran across her wedding on Green Wedding Shoes I just had to blog about it.
While we don't necessarily have anything in stock (although we can definitely do custom skirts) that has a high-low skirt like Whitney's Ashi Studio gown, we do have 2 dresses that come into mind if you're loving the illusion beaded lace sleeve style. First up, is our newest Blush by Hayley Paige gown, Ginger. A little more cleavage, no beading, but seriously romantic and stunning. This gown is one of our absolute favorite new ones from last bridal market. The skirt is layered english net and organza and the back of this gown is completely open. The second gown, Buchanan by Sarah Seven, has shorter sleeves but features a beaded lace that shimmers. The skirt of this dress is much more airy with a soft layer of organza. WIth the higher neckline this is perfect for someone who wants a bit more coverage.
Whitney's jewelry and accessories style is very simple yet elegant. It makes sense though when your dress and heels in itself are fashion statements. So why not rock a designer piece that is understated, beautiful and affordable like some of these stunning pieces from Rent the Runway? Plus, when you rent it doesn't that technically count as something borrowed? Some of my favorites from Rent the Runway include these Crislu Classic Lady Drop earrings, Kenneth Jay Lane Crystal Rays studs and Ben Amun Crystal Bouquet Chandelier earrings. Bring on the sparkle and bling in a subtle yet really stunning way.
In love with Whitney's invitations as much as we are?! Well, lucky you because Whitney Port actually has her own collection on Wedding Paper Divas. And while her exact invitations might not be available to purchase, there are some seriously stylish and fabulous styles that we are in love with that are available - shop the entire collection here. First is the Enchanting Affair Suite with 3 colors available: plumberry, fuschia (shown below) and paradise. The second style is the Diamond Heights Suite. This suite comes in reef (shown below) and fuschia. Both suites feature bright modern watercolor-esque styles but one is a little bit more wild while the other is more geometric. Either option would suit a wedding similar to Whitney's perfectly and would set the tone for a fun tropical party.
Palms on palms on palms. I am obsessed with all the palms that are everywhere throughout the wedding. I feel like they really loved the venue and location of their wedding because rather than add a bunch of blooms to the decor, they played on the fact that there were already palms everywhere by adding even more palms. And the outcome is seriously a tropical heaven that makes me want to curl up on a hammock with a good book and nap in. And I must say I am in love with all the bold white pots with tropical plants and cactuses that create an atmosphere that is laid back, relaxed and extremely fun. Aside from wanting to nap on every single couch that they rented, I also would like to just move in to this perfectly decorated outdoor tropical mid-century modern oasis they have created. While we may not have any venues that are as tropical as this one, we do have some local vendors who can provide some rentals with a similar vibe.

Last but not least, I just had to share this picture of Whitney's shoes by Paul Andrew. And while I may not ever feel the desire to spend as much as I'm sure these cost, I can definitely appreciate a beautiful and unique fashion-forward bridal heel. Forget stuffy boring heels... I love a bride who can wear something that fits her personality so well. I can totally see Adrienna, the little flower lover that she is, rocking some beautiful shoes like these. So on that note, what were your favorite trends and styles from Whitney and Tim's wedding? Anything you would want to pull inspiration from? Love to hear your input and thanks for reading!!
