Savannah Squares by Daniel Eastwood Photography
We are so so blessed to have such talented friends! Our friend Daniel Eastwood Photography took part of our first mini shoot back in October, and did another one for us for our friend Wendy's birthday ! So what is a Mini Shoot? Its when we take one of our newest gowns, and explore Savannah! So far we've shown up at Leopolds, Forsyth Park, and the Delegal Marina. And we have plenty more to share, and plan! (We can't wait to show you this weeks mini shoot! Make sure to follow us on Instagram for sneak peeks!)
For this shoot, we chose one of our favorite squares, Pulaski Square. This iconic square has been the backdrop for so many of our weddings, so it was the perfect spot. Our dear friend Wendy at Apt B Photography modeled for us, and we loooooove the gown she chose to wear! She chose Hannah by Ti Adora, which is a beautiful soft blush color, with illusion neckline and lace bodice. It's effortlessly romantic, soft, and so stunning on Wendy! I especially love the color of the gown with her tattoo.
For the flowers, we wanted to make it large and organic, with lots of greenery and lavender. Nicole made a matching flower crown that features some wheat, lavender, feathers, cotton, and ranunculus! Such a gorgeous combo, with so much texture! We wanted to create a flower crown that wasn't just your typical flowers, but really showcased so many different types of plants and flowers. And one of the questions we always get asked at Ivory & Beau is: Can I wear a flower crown with a veil? The answer is YES! We love pairing a flower crown with your favorite veil. For this shoot, we had Wendy wear a gorgeous chantilly lace veil by Jaclyn Jordan, which tied in the lace of the gown so well. Plus it flowed so well when she twirled. We love the idea of wearing the veil for the ceremony, get a few pictures with it on, then take it off to party.
McKenzie Does Calligraphy wrote on the long blush ribbon, which cascaded to the floor. We love the look of cascading ribbons, and think writing something special on them is so much fun! Maybe a vow? Favorite lyric? So many options!
Since it was also Wendy's birthday, we wanted to surprise her at the shoot! So we grabbed two of our favorite Jenny Yoo gowns, and played dress up! We chose gowns that were in the burgundy family, and fit our personality! Adrienna wore Leah, a chiffon gown with convertible straps, that allows you to wear it strapless, or with multiple top options, like off the shoulder or halter. Nicole wore Ava, a fitted gown with criss cross ruched bodice and sweetheart neckline. Wendy tied in the burgundy with a velvet sash by Adele Amelia around the waist. We love velvet touches on gown, especially in the fall and winter. The best part about our velvet? We can get it in over 60 colors, and so many sizes! So you have endless options!
