Xiao & Hang

Xiao & Hang were one of our favorite couple's we have worked with. They were so sweet, so genuine, and so excited to get married! Hang was just so over the moon in love, and always called Xiao his love and queen. They met while in China, and have been long distance their whole relationship, so it was time for a celebration! Xiao is a student at SCAD, which made Savannah the perfect backdrop for their wedding. They wanted to keep their wedding simple and traditional, with some Chinese elements during their ceremony. They both really wanted a garden feel, so after looking at a few venues we chose The Mackey House!  With endless gardens, and a large deck for their reception, it is such a beautiful space, rain or shine.

Their colors were soft blush, creme, and lush greenery. Each table had large centerpieces in mercury vases, and tea light candles all over. Their wedding was such a reflection of them as a couple. They picked their favorite things, like their favorite band for the reception music, and their favorite restaurant for catering.  We love when a couple wants to pick things they love, not what everyone expects you to pick for a wedding! Xiao even handmade the invitations, drawing each element, and cutting them all out! They are the cutest invitations we have ever seen! A huge congratulations to Xiao and Hang, and a thank you to Apt B Photography for capturing all of this gorgeousness!

The rain moved their first look inside, but we love it! Both were so nervous and excited to see each other, and the looks on their faces when they saw each other were priceless. Xiao wore a stunning lace and organza gown, with lace and beading details on the back and sleeves. We love her tattoo's and are so glad she showed them off! (She has THE CUTEST kitty tattoo on her arm we have ever seen!) Her girls all wore blush with nude shoes, and the guys wore tan and white. We love this color palate! And we love when guy's don't wear jackets, just vests and suspenders. We kept the bouquets soft and textures, with soft blush roses, garden roses, anemones, and some draping dusty miller. The men each had a small ranunculus bouts with a touch of greenery.

It was a rainy day, but they didn't let it get in their way! They were just so happy to be together, that rain didn't bother them one bit. Their ceremony took place under a pavilion, and we were able to transform the space into a romantic and intimate setting. We placed a floral garland across the fireplace, and filled the space with candles. They wanted to incorporate some of their Chinese traditions during the ceremony, including a drinking ceremony, as well as bowing and showing thanks for their parents, the universe, and each other. They spoke their vows in both English and Chinese, and you don't have to know Chinese to see how special those words were. Xiao was so emotional, and when Hang embraced her, there wasn't a dry eye in the whole room.
