Refreshing Savannah

It's been 3 years plus a little since I dived deep into the southern world of planning Savannah weddings. And it's been 3 years of helping over 50 couples plan their Savannah wedding. And in the past year-ish, Savannah has welcomed new hotels, restaurants and venues for couples to choose from, something I can say we at Ivory & Beau are beyond thrilled about. Refreshing Savannah with a change of scenery and new venues ignites the creative spark in both ourselves and our clients. While I love and adore Savannah for its history and old-town charm, I also love modern, retro, chic and artsy venues that are popping up around town. So sit back, enjoy a cup of tea and check out some of the hippest new wedding venues around town without even leaving the comfort of your snuggly sofa.

The Brice is one of those places I walk into and wish I never had to leave. This hotel is just rad in so many ways, with it's retro mod feel, it's cafe-lit up Secret Garden courtyard at night, it's delicious food at Pacci, it's amazing bridal suite decorated with all the fantasticness that I want to fill up my own home with, it's badass chairs everywhere you look, it's secluded hidden pool garden, it's gray velvet linens, it's neutrality yet bold pops of colors that make you feel refreshed and clean, it's surprising decor details hiding around every corner... it's just one of my favorites in so many ways. It's that place that inspires me to have better taste than I already do if that's even possible. And, if my words aren't enough to impress you, Ingrid K. Williams recently wrote a glowing review featured in The New York Times about this new hotel noting its, "fresh and cheerful interpretation of Southern hospitality," a comment I would have to completely agree with. Perfect for the couple who wants a wedding with a clean and mid-century modern vibe.

Soho South Cafe, open since 1997 but recently remodeled to little whimsical cafe perfection in a warehouse setting for the artsy and eclectic couple. The atmosphere feels to me like I just walked into Alice in Wonderland with all it's mismatching vintage and antique decorations and furnishings. The mismatched chairs and tables are quite possibly one of the funnest parts about this cafe that gives it its trademark eclectic character. I must agree with shoutouts from television host, Jesse Blanco, of Eat It and Like It who noted Soho South Cafe as being like "'grandma's house' with an elegant streak." This is the place in town I would happily spend every Sunday brunch drinking a Soho Bloody Mary with my Huevos Rancheros Brunch Bowl while Adrienna would choose any other day of the week as long as she can order the beloved Soho Combo, a grilled cheese sandwich with a bowl of their signature tomato basil basque. The perfect spot for the unique couple who wants something different with that home-y feel.

From grandma's house to contemporary modern we go...

The Florence is a little taste of Italy a short Uber drive outside of Historic Downtown Savannah featuring a menu that will delight any foodie. With modern contemporary designs, scrumptious Italian inspired food and even more delicious cocktails this is my vote for the best hot hipster date night in town. The Florence knows how to bring people in with their fun Movie & Meatballs date nights showing films from directors like Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino or favorite series like Harry Potter or their Savannah Power Yoga mornings on the upstairs rooftop patio. Walking into The Florence feels like walking into the hip new spot in a big city. Perfect for the couple who wants to host an edgy contemporary wedding with some seriously classy food while still being in the historic and romantic city of Savannah.
