When it comes to picking a new designer, we don't take the decision lightly. We take weeks deciding what will be best, and hours upon hours picking the final gowns we will bring into Ivory & Beau. After months going back and forth, we are so excited to bring in our newest designer, Maggie Sottero! We wanted a line that had impeccable fit and construction, and had a variety of styles for all of our brides. From sweet southern, to bold laces, to unique beadwork, Maggie has it all! Today we talk about our favorite gowns, and why they are the perfect addition to our shop!
Modern Romance: For the bride who wants something romantic, but with a touch of modern lace and detailing. We love Lottie's Guipure lace, that stands out from the traditional floral lace patterns we always see. Kirstie is another bride favorite, especially in blush. She features scalloped lace appliques throughout, and is lightweight with the perfect little flare at the bottom.
Southern Sexy: We love showing some skin, but without giving grandma a heart attach of course! Melanie and Roberta are two stunners that give coverage, while still showing skin. Melanie features a v neck front, cap sleeve, and stunning extra low back with sheer lace detail, and buttons all the way down. Not surprising she is a bride favorite! Roberta has gorgeous sheer lace long sleeves, perfect for a fall or winter wedding, but has a daring extra low back. Subtle beading throughout add the perfect touch of sparkle.
Sparkly Boho: Just because you want to be a bohemian goddess on your wedding day doesn't mean you can't have some sparkle! These gowns shimmer in the light, but still have a whimsical feel that works perfect in an outdoor garden wedding. Bailey has layers of soft tulle and lace, with beaded touches throughout the bodice and skirt. Kylie has a vintage feel, with soft layers of tulle and metallic lace. And the back? A stunning illusion lace back with buttons. A must see in person!
Sophisticated Trumpet: There is a reason a fit and flare silhouette will always be popular: it is so flattering! And Maggie's fit is impeccable. The gowns have a full built in corset that will hug you in all the right places, and make you feel so secure, even in strapless! Brides always tell us they don't want to be tugging on their gown all night, but Maggie's top's make your girls stay put. Winstyn's lace detailing looks like cascading flowers, and we love the extra long train. Rosamund is all about the details, with beaded lace, and a gorgeous scallop hem and train that is to die for
Intricate Necklines: As much as we love a nice sweetheart neckline, we also love necklines that have detail. Patience Lynette has a sheer lace bateau neckline, and a criss cross bodice that is ultra flattering. And our favorite trend of 2016 has to be the illusion neckline! We love Jovi, with her illusion neckline, and sheer lace back. Plus she is light weight, and perfect for the spring and summer.
