Alice In Wonderland

The first styled shoot we let Nic + McKenzie completely design was Alice In Wonderland inspired! We are HUGE Taylor Swift fans at the shop, and when we first hear "Wonderland" we got obsessed, and it instantly inspired the shoot. We had recently seen the newly renovated Soho South Cafe, and it was a perfect fit. A little but funky, a little retro, and definitely vintage. With a wall dedicated to funky doors, a wooden garage door and mismatched vintage furniture, the venue was originally an automotive service station in 1945 and screamed Alice in Wonderland. As soon as we started brain storming, we knew we wanted a water colored stationary, and made sure to reach out to Forever September. The designer behind Forever September, Kaitlin, created gorgeous pieces that look straight out of a novel. We wanted to create a super fun ceremony backdrop, that went from ceiling to floor. We cut out extra large tea labels from different patterned paper, and hung them from the huge garage doors inside Soho. Our friend Rach Lea from Rach Loves Troy was kind enough to photography the shoot for us, and even provided the marquee letters we used at the end!

When you think of Alice In Wonderland, you of course think of tea! So we reached out to Lillian's China right here in Savannah, and she provided us some amazing sets that we were able to incorporate into our decor. We knew we wanted to not only use her china as place settings, but as floral arrangements. So we used red roses, thistle and baby's breath to create mini arrangements.

For the attire, we chose one of our newest ballgowns by Alvina Valenta, which features a horsehair trim ballgown skirt and beaded bodice. For the bridesmaids we wanted funky and fun, so we chose two of our favorite Sarah Seven gowns: Golden Lights + Blushing! For accessories, McKenzie and Nic found Purple Vintage Restyle on Etsy, and knew their unique boots and bracelets would fit perfectly, and give a little edge. They brought us so many options, and we had fun mixing and matching the looks! Hair and makeup was done by the always talented Marie Bramlett, who took our wild and crazy look and made it come to life!

For the tea display, we contacted local tea company The Spice & Tea Exchange, and they provided a complete set up and tasting! Each flavor was unique, and were delicious! Soho has such fun and funky furniture, so we knew we wanted to use all of their own pieces. And as soon as we saw the awesome marquee letters Rach had, we were amazed! They were huge, and made such awesome shots. We think Nic + McKenzie did such a great job on their first shoot! They completely organized everything, and were there from start to finish. Who knew a little Taylor Swift could inspire so much!
